This is information Central for all MHS Drama members--young and old.  Check out the website often to find out what shows are happening, what great events we have planned, and what cool things are going on with our alumni and Mamas and Papas group. 

 Auditions for Grease January 17th!! Congrats to our one-act team for the Maryland Thespian festival 2nd place!

Upcoming Events   Here's the place to see everything McDonough Drama will be doing this year! Check the list below or go to that page!

GREASE auditions will take place January 10 and 11.  Technical Interviews will be January 9th.  Production Staff interviews will take place January 5 which is the same day that the music and dance for auditions will be taught.

EACH PERSON wanting to be cast or crew for GREASE needs to raise $50 towards the show by fundraising, selling program ads or getting donations.

TALENT SHOW AUDITIONS-- THURSDAY JANUARY 19th  2:30-5

 

MHS Drama now has a FACEBOOK home .  Just add Jana Whitlock Heyl as your friend to get in on the action and catch up with some old friends.  Ask to be added to the MHS DRAMA group to get updates as well.  Become a Fan of McDonough Drama  or McDonough Theater Alumni .

FUNDRAISERS--

We will be selling GIANNIs (which features pizza kits, MRS FIELDS COOKIES, and Aunt Anne's pretzels) from December 19th to January 9th .  The absolute last day for ORDERS IN is Tuesday January 17th in the morning. They will be in -- Feb 2nd--in time for the Superbowl.

CONGRATULATIONS to our Maryland State Thespian winners:

The MHS drama club took 2nd place in the State Thespian Festival one act competition.  We won  awards for Best Costumes and Best Scenery. Matthew Sallee won the newly named Bobby Balint Musical Theatre scholarship.  Jade Bartlett and Donavan Hart won Best actors.  Our tech challenge team won 2nd place with several of our teams taking 1st and  2nd place.  Ashley Fisher, Anya Gray, Jade Bartlett, and Stephen Hilson all won All State Thespian honors.  Matthew Sallee, Courtney Jones, and Our group musical theatre entrants (Gabe  gray, Donavan Hart, Tyler Clark, dillon Kercher, and Lucas Salada. -- received superior rankings in the Individual events competitions.  Final congratulations go out to  Stephen Hilson and Heather Bortner as MHS's  State Student Officers.  They did a fantastic job running the festival.  Way to go,  MHS drama! 

Mamas and Papas--

Thanks to all the Mamas and Papas that helped make Moon Over Buffalo a success for the students.  We really appreciate all of your efforts for our students. 

No matter what your teenage student says, "WE DO NEED YOU!"  Parent volunteers help make the productions so much simpler.  I need your support; they need your support; we need your support.  Hope to see you there.

More students can now join in as we are taking a bus.  Start with a $100 downpayment ASAP.  You can also pay by making a DONATION on the drama website.  Just add $5 to the payment to pay for credit card fees.
